What this tool does
Encode text for transport or inspect text stored in Base64 fields. This is useful when debugging payloads; it does not encrypt files or protect secrets.
How to use it
- Enter plain text and choose Encode, then copy the output.
- Paste the encoded result into the input and choose Decode to reverse it.
- If decoding fails, check that the input is complete standard Base64, not a data URL or an entire JWT.
Example
Text: Hello Base64: SGVsbG8= Decoding SGVsbG8= returns Hello.
Limits and common mistakes
Anyone can reverse Base64. The converter handles UTF-8 text rather than arbitrary binary files. Base64url uses a different alphabet, which this tool does not automatically normalize. Whitespace, line breaks and non-ASCII characters affect the output.

Frequently asked questions
Is my data stored?
Local processing does not upload your input. Some tools, such as the notepad, save content or preferences in this browser; clearing site data removes that local storage. Usage counters are described in the privacy policy.
