What this tool does
Check an API response or configuration file, then expand its nested structure for inspection. Formatting validates syntax, not business rules, and does not repair incorrect data.
How to use it
- Paste JSON into the input. Keys and string values need double quotes.
- Choose Format for readable indentation or Minify for compact output.
- If parsing fails, check trailing commas, single quotes and unmatched brackets before trying again.
Example
Input: {"name":"OhMy","count":2}
Formatted:
{
"name": "OhMy",
"count": 2
} Limits and common mistakes
This tool uses JSON.parse and JSON.stringify. Comments and trailing commas are unsupported. Duplicate keys may be overwritten and integers outside the JavaScript safe range may lose precision. Encode long identifiers as strings at the source. Large inputs can consume substantial browser memory.
Why use this tool?
Everything is processed locally in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded.
Responsive controls for desktop, tablet and mobile.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data stored?
Local processing does not upload your input. Some tools, such as the notepad, save content or preferences in this browser; clearing site data removes that local storage. Usage counters are described in the privacy policy.
